Poorhouse Quilt Designs

Kristine Poor is the owner of Poorhouse Quilt Designs. She has been sewing since “polyester” – her grandmother sent me a box of pink and magenta dress fabric when she was 6 years old – of course she had to cut it up and make doll dresses. That was the seed that started her design career!

Poorhouse Quilt Designs was founded in September 2006, after designing the Sampler Tote as a gift for a family member. The tote was a hit around town and a pattern company was born! Kris has a degree in Engineering and a love of fabric and color; these seemingly conflicting pursuits have come together.

Her pattern line has grown since then – there are bags, bowls, quilts, banners, ornaments, and more. The most popular pattern is the Fold’n Stitch Wreath.
